ICFS and Deakin University Signed an Agreement of Building a Bank and Financial Stability Research Center

On Jun.29th, the delegation of Deakin University led by President Jane den Hollander, Vice President Peter Hodson, Gary Smith and John Moroni visited SWUFE. ZHAO Dewu, Chairman of the University Council, hosted the meeting at the VIP room of Tengxiang Building. YIN Qingshuang, Vice President, and representatives from ICFS, School of Business Administration, School of Public Finance and Taxation, Western Business School, Study Abroad Institute and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting.

ZHAO Dewu extended his warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the characteristics and development strategy of SWUFE. During the meeting, ZHAO said the two sides had maintained close high-level contacts and frequent exchanges between teachers and students since they cooperated with each other in 2014. The recent, successful symposium on teachers’ scientific research opened up a new mode of cooperation between the two sides. SWUFE regarded Deakin University as an important partner in international cooperation. Both sides had established a good relationship of mutual trust, laying a solid foundation for multi-channel and in-depth cooperation in the future. ZHAO expressed the hope that the visit would provide an opportunity for the two sides to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between each other.

Jane den Hollander expressed her gratitude for the warm reception. She noted that SWUFE was an important partner of Deakin University in China. Young as it was, Deakin University gathered pace. Given the profound accumulation and traditional advantages of both sides in economics, finance and other disciplines as well as the fruitful cooperation, Deakin University was looking forward to expanding cooperation with SWUFE and jointly cultivating a new generation of international talents with broad international vision and strong competitiveness.

During the meeting, ZHAO Dewu and Jane den Hollander, on behalf of each university, signed a memorandum of understanding between two sides. Representatives of ICFS and Deakin Business School signed an agreement of building a bank and financial stability research center.

The delegation of Deakin University then visited History Museum of SWUFE and had a deep understanding of the history and development of SWUFE after the meeting.
