ICFS Teachers and Students Attended the 15th CFRC and Awarded the Second Class Paper

From Nov.10th to 11th, as one of the most important and highest academic level finance meetings, the 15th China Financial Research Conference(CFRC), hosted by Jinan University and Council of CFRC, organized by School of Economics, Jinan University and Institute for Finance, Jinan University, and co-organized by South China Finance, was held in Jinan University (Shipai Campus). With 41 parallel sessions in total, the conference covered 16 topics, including asset pricing, corporate finance, macro finance, international finance and monetary policy. Prof. LU Lei, Deputy Director of State Administration of Foreign Exchange(SAFE), Prof. XU Lixin, Chief Economist of World Bank Research Institute for Development, and CHEN Chuanglian, the professor of Department of Finance of School of Economics, Jinan University made keynote speeches during the conference.

Vice Prof. SHANG Yuhuang, CHEN Kang and ZHANG Bo of the Institute of Chinese Finance Studies (ICFS) were invited to present their papers in the meeting. “Animal spirits, Financial markets and Aggregate instability”, the paper of ZHANG Bo, was awarded the second class in the conference. And the interpretation of the bond between investors and financial market was universally praised.

Besides, some PhD students of ICFS also attended the meeting. For example, SHENG Xia and WU Yu presented their papers in the parallel session of “Household Finance” and “Corporate Finance” respectively, and heard the opinion of experts in related fields. During the conference, teachers and students of ICFS had active communication and they learned a lot.

The submitted papers totaled more than 610 this year. After anonymous review of experts, 186 papers were accepted and presented in the parallel session of the meeting. It was expected that the accepted papers would strengthen cross-field cooperation, pay more attention to emerging issues, and be more in line with the reality of the times, so as to provide a practical basis and support for national progress. ICFS hoped that more teachers and students could attend the meeting next year, and ICFS could have broader academic exchanges and cooperation with domestic universities.
