ICFS Professors LIU Xiliang and WANG Qin Awarded the 18th Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences of Sichuan Province

On the morning of October 31, the prize-giving ceremony of the 18th Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences of Sichuan Province was held in Chengdu, which commended the outstanding achievements of social sciences from 2016 to 2017 and the experts and scholars who made remarkable contributions to the development of philosophy and social sciences in Sichuan Province, and further boosted the philosophy and social sciences to enter a new era and yield new results. Prof. LIU Xiliang, Honorary Director of the ICFS, and Prof. WANG Qing, Director of the ICFS, won the first prize and the second prize respectively.

At the meeting, GAN Lin, Member of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. On behalf of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Government, GAN Lin warmly congratulated the award-winning experts and scholars and paid high tribute to the vast number of philosophy and social science workers in Sichuan province. He hoped that everyone would further enhance our sense of mission and responsibility, find out the gap, identify the direction and path, strive to be first-class, and accelerate the development of our province from a big province to a strong province in the field of social science.

Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences of Sichuan Province is the highest standard award in the field of social sciences established by the provincial People’s Government. It is an important platform to show the research level, research achievements and, research strength of social sciences in Sichuan Province. The award-giving meeting will be held once every two years. After strict evaluation procedures, 400 awards were finally selected, including 1 honorary award, 20 first prizes, 80 second prizes, and 299 third prizes, which showcased the fruitful achievements of philosophy and social science research in our province in the past two years.
