On the afternoon of June 1, ICFS held a study seminar on political theories titled “Exercising Full and Strict Party Self-governance and Reshaping the Professional Ethics of Teachers” at Room 618, Gezhi Building. ICFS invited Prof. ZENG Zhaoxi, Deputy Secretary of Discipline Inspection and Dean of SWUFE Discipline Inspection Office, for the lecture. The lecture was presided over by LI Dayong, Secretary of the Party General Branch, and was attended by all faculty and staff of ICFS.
Dean ZENG stressed that since the 18th National Congress, supervision and inspection would follow the decisions and plans of the Party Central Committee, and would act on the main principle of exercising full and strict Party self-governance.University teachers would bear in mind their mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the state. The sense of rules and worst-case scenario cannot be forgotten. We mustkeep learning, continuously improve the ability to judge and understand political issues and implement political requirements, and try to set a fine example for students.
Secretary LI stressed that full and strict governance of the Party in universities was a natural element for sticking to the socialist orientation for running schools, which directly affected the implementation of taking fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of people as the fundamental task. All faculty and staff mustunderstand the requirements of teachers’ professional ethics. We must promote the learning of the histories of the Party, New China, the reform and opening-up, and socialist development. We must learn from models of professional ethics and stay alert against potential risks towards teachers’ ethics. We must implement the Party’s education policy and shoulder the responsibilities of fulfilling the mission assigned by the Party to educators with high quality.
