    2023中德货币政策研讨会征文通知|Call for Papers: 2023 Monetary Policy Workshop

    The 2023 Monetary Policy Workshop will be held in Chengdu/China on November 23-24, 2023. The Monetary Policy workshops are jointly sponsored and organized by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (School of Finance and Institute of Chinese Financial Studies), Berlin School of Economics and Law, Deutsche Bundesbank Regional Office Berlin and Brandenburg, and the People’s Bank of China (Shanghai Head Office). The conference working language is English.

    Meanwhile, a special issue of the Eurasian Economic Review (EAER) is calling for papers. The guest editors are Martina METZGER (Professor of Monetary Economics, Berlin School of Economics) and WANG Qing (Dean of School of Finance, Dean of Institute of Chinese Financial Studies, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics).

    Accepted authors of preliminary papers or extended abstracts are invited to present at the 2023 Monetary Policy Workshop.

    TOPICS:

    The theme of the workshop and the special issue is “Digitalization of Money and Finance”. We welcome contributions which explore the potentials and address the risks of digital financial services and generative AI in order to identify governance and supervisory gaps and advance the regulatory architecture. We also welcome research on the implications of central bank digital currency for monetary policy and economic agents. The topics include (but not limited to):

    lCentral bank digital currency: requirements and challenges

    lCentral bank digital currency: implications for monetary policy

    lCentral bank digital currency: implications for economic agents (banking sector, corporates, households)

    lBig Tech and digital financial services

    lGenerative AI: impacts on and risks for the financial sector

    lCrypto assets and fiat money

    lRegulatory level playing field for digital financial services

    lDigital financial services and transformation to the traditional banking sector

    lTraditional financial services, digital financial services and regulatory arbitrage

    lDigital financial services, competition in the financial sector and risks for financial stability

    lDigital financial services, in particular crypto assets, and risks to financial integrity

    lDigital financial services and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

    lDevelopment impacts and risks of digital financial services

    lConsumer protection of digital financial service users (data use, fraud, deposit insurance)

    Priority will be given tosingle- and multi-country studies on China and Europe with an emphasis on contemporary regulatory challenges to digital financial services and with clear recommendations for policy.

    PAPER SUBMISSION & DEADLINE:

    Authors can choose to submit to the workshop only, to the special issue only, or to both.

    If an author wants to submit to the workshop only, please send preliminary papers or extended abstracts to Professor Metzger(martina.metzger@hwr-berlin.de) and Professor Wang(cicfdsc@swufe.edu.cn)with the note that he/she would like to present the paper only during the workshop and not submit any paper to the EAER.The deadline for submission is October 22, 2023.

    If an author wants to submit to the special issue (and the workshop), here are the guidelines:

    Prior to submitting a paper for this special issue, authors are further advised to seek guidance for Eurasian Economic review from the following URL:http://springer.com/economics/journal/40822

    Each full paper submission will be double blind reviewed by at least one referee and one of the guest editors. EAER waives all article-processing charges for this special issue. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically as Word or PDF documents through http://www.editorialmanager.com/eaer/Default.aspx.

    Authors should mention in the Cover Letter to the Guest-Editors that the paper is submitted for the Special Issue Digitalisation of Money and Finance. They are also requested to select the SI Title from the relevant drop-down menu during the submission process.

    The deadline for submission of preliminary papers/extended abstract is October 22, 2023. The deadline for submission of final papers is February 1, 2024.

    2023中德货币政策研讨会将于2023年11月23-24日在中国成都举办。会议由西南财经大学金融学院与中国金融研究院、柏林财经政法大学、中国人民银行上海总部、以及德意志联邦银行柏林与勃兰登堡大区分行共同主办。会议的交流语言为英文。

    同时,Eurasian Economic Review(EAER)(《欧亚经济评论》)特刊征稿。特刊由柏林财政政法大学的货币经济学教授Martina METZGER和西南财经大学金融学院院长、中国金融研究院院长王擎教授担任客座编辑。被特刊接收的论文作者将受邀参加2023中德货币政策研讨会。

    l数字金融服务的监管层面竞争环境

    l数字金融服务与传统银行部门转型

    l传统金融服务、数字金融服务与监管套利

    l数字金融服务、银行业竞争与金融稳定风险

    l数字金融服务(尤其是加密资产)与金融诚信

    l数字金融服务与可持续发展目标的实现

    l数字金融服务对经济发展的影响与挑战

    l数字金融服务用户的消费者保护(数据使用、诈骗、存款保险等)

    尤其欢迎对中国与欧洲国家的数字金融服务的监管挑战进行研究并提供明确政策建议的论文。

    会议仅接受英文论文投稿。
